Preparation
of your Company's
POLICIES & PROCEDURES
|
 |
Under Section 2
of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, every
employer must produce a Health and Safety Policy
Statement, signed by the company's Chief
Executive, and bring it to the attention of all
employees. |
PURPOSE
OF LEGISLATION: To require the Chief Executive
Officer or Managing Director to make a public commitment
to protecting Health and Safety and describe how this
commitment is met. Not having such a document or having a
flawed document has contributed to individual company
directors being jailed for manslaughter following fatal
accidents.
HSAS SUPPORT: We have developed a unique, user
friendly, Health and Safety Management System, compliant
to BS18001, written in plain English, which has been
found by both Factory Inspectors and Environmental Health
Officers to meet the legal requirement described above.
Designed to suit the needs of companies ranging in size
from several hundred to less than ten employees, our
Health and Safety Management System is made up as follows:
- Policy
Statement
- Organisational
Arrangements
- Individual
Policies and Procedures
