Under Regulation
2 of the Display Screen Equipment Regulations
1992, employers must carry out an analysis of
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) users'
workstations and take such measures as are
necessary to reduce risk to an acceptable level.
Findings of such analysis must then be recorded
in writing. |
PURPOSE
OF LEGISLATION: To reduce the risk of predominantly
chronic injuries known as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI),
or Work Related Upper Limb Disorders (WRULD). Whilst
prosecutions for non-compliance with these regulations
are very rare, persons sustaining such injuries have been
able to win significant compensation in Civil Court
actions, resulting in dramatic increases in Employers
Liability Insurance premiums for their employers.
HSAS SUPPORT: We are able to carry out workstation
assessment on client premises and provide written results
of the findings together with recommendations to reduce
risk, where necessary.
